This time, I went through all the class lecture power points and I saw one lecture which talked about bits and bytes in chapter 2. This apparently does not related to my project, talking about the how bits and bytes values, the difference between decimals and binary and count binary by using hands. However this may come up with something that can possibly improve my project.
In the lecture, there was the section called "Put in Perspective" which shows that how much amount of space is need for one object. For instance, in order to save a one page microsoft word document, 30 KB are required and computer with 1TB can save 1000 hours of videos which is about 350 movies.
This give me an idea that if i put a momory chip into the remote controlled bed and save all the routes by recording through camera. So, by pushing one botton, it can automatically take one through the place where one wants to go. Obviously this might not necessary however, people who are blind, might need this because they are unable to see.

Week 11
Few weeks ago, proffesor had a lecture about digital images and video. This was quite interesting although it is not related to my project. He talked about the basics of digital images, including pixel, hue, saturation and brightness. These were the familiar terms that i knew, but in terms of technological way, it was completely different.
Hexadecimal color which i think it was the most fun part, is that the code consisting of 6 values can distinguish the color of the image. For instance, black would be 000000, and white will be FFFFFF. The another fun part was vedieo, I learned the key video concepts which i think this might help for my project
On my project, as I said, i will attach a labtop to my remote controlled bed and instead of the camera which generally attached on the top of the monitor, I will attach camera in front of bed. So people can see where they going by monitoring through their computer and since this bed is for people who has physical or mental disablities, the camera, laptop and remote controlled systems are connected that whenever they get lost, the remote controlled bed can go back to where they were by recording the routes.

Week 10
Network which probably one of the key factors that globalized the world in one place. This time, I learned not only the inportance of networking system but also the use of IP address and domain names.
When I was working on the Lab on network, there was part which I need to show how long does my computer takes to access the specific websites. This was quite interesting that I believe google was the fastest time to access. I did not realized how we technically access the internet website, but as i go through the lab and read lecture notes, it helped me a lot to comprehend the fuction of networking.
This fuction, i believe, can apply to my project, remote moveable bed. Every each bed has some kind of own identification system (similar to IP address) that also connects to the computer that it attaches to the bed. Therefore it works as a GPS system that people can notify where they are and where they at.

Week 9
In the lecture, professor talked little bit about privacy. The techology lead a great impact on soceity like everyone gathers in online and information goes through internet in very few seconds, the world is getting comfort and comfort. However, some people use this technology in a very bad way, accessing other propertys which called hacking.
During the lecture, I remember the message from Deborah Platt Majoras, chairman of the FTC to ChoicePoint and others "Data security is critical to consumers, and protecting it is a priority for the FTC, as it should be to every business in America" I realized the protection of one's privacy is not just dangerous and risky to the consumers but also dangerous to the large companies.
For my project, although it not really unrelated, I will attach small computer on my remote movable bad and make sure all the computers are secured like setting anti virus system in the computer. Also I realized if i make a business, my private information can be stored. It is very important to keep computer in safety, turning firewalls on and running anti virus system.

Week 8
This week’s lecture, I thought it would be easier than the past three lectures – database, excel and etc. This week I saw some familiar terms which I heard of – IP address, networking and internet; however, it was just opposite of my thought that it was complicated and difficult to understand. I did not know what the IP address is used for and how it protects our computer.
Additionally this week’ lecture, Network, apparently does not related to my project, the remote controlled bed. Domain names, TCP, network, all those terms are related to computer networking system. However, I learned more about internet. For instance, I learned the use of domain names and the IP address. It shows the identity of the computer and work as an internet communication.
I think for my project, I will be good if the computer is placed on my remote controlled bed. Internet became the most powerful use for communication and information. Also from the lab eight, using command system, I learned how we find the time and speed to reach the one websites. It is good that I am improving in technology and so as in my project.

Week 7
The main objectives in chapter 7 are to understand the basic structure of database and define the different kind of database software. The definition of database is the collection of information which are stored in computer disks. There are many great advantages that i can apply to my innovation.
First of all, it is very easy to store enormous quantities of information, also it can arrange related information that the each fields can be seen very easily. Additionally, there are variety of ways to print or distribute the information in which people can read information quickly and flexibly. I did lab in this database and it was typically hard compare to other labs that i have done; however as I achieved the each steps by reading the lab hand guide, I realized how this easily organize datas in many different views.
This is very efficient to variety of ways, especially to my project. There are tons of informations and datas will be presented in order to innovate the product, and this program, database, can easily solve the problem that tons of quantities of information can be seen in on place and organize into related information and datas. This lecture was very helful and useful to me that now I can easily organize the datas.

Week 6
This week, we learned about the basic rules and fuctions of the Microsoft Office Exel. I thought this might not related to my own product becuase the Exel is basically about the analysis and the calculation of the data. However as I go through this lecture, some functions such as operators and precedence may useful for my project that can organize and collect data.
In order to make a good product, the basic sourses are important; the efficiency of the product is depending on the materials. It is hard to compare which materials are better for the product in one place; however the Exel can easily arrange the data and compare the materials. Additionally, it is easy to the profit and loss by using Exel and this would be much better way to saving money.
I realized the Information Studies is about the brand new stuffs which I never heard of, but it is also teaching the general informations that I need in more profound way. By taking this course, I believe that not only the knowledge about the computer and technology will improve, but also the general concepts that we need such as the Microsoft Office, will also improve.

Week 3
First of all, i was totally misunderstood about the purpose of the blogger and i did not know that the topic which i chose should relate to the lecture. So, back to my topic, the remote controlled bed, i thought this could be invented very easily, inserting little sensor chip into the bed. However, this week lecture has changed my thoughts that it is very complicated to make those individual components in the computer and actually each components plays an important role.
It is very important to know that the every single components containing in the computer is valuable. For the remote controlled bed, it should needs some little components that i probably do not know about. Therefore, it was helpful understanding the general concepts of technology and i believe this will help me a lot for my future.

"The Sudanese Girl" photographed by Kevin Carter
This picture first appeared in The New York Times on Marck 26, 1993. Carter who photographed this picture, awared the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography on March 23, 1994. However, the honor and money that he achieved from the photo could not make him happy. On July 27, 1994, he suicede by inhaling carbon monoxide poisoning at the age of 33.This happened when Carter made a trip to southern Sudan. He met this young emaciated Sudanese girl, resting from struggling to a feeding center and a vulture had landed nearby, waiting for her death. After 20 mins, Carter snapped the photo and chased a vurture away. However, he could not saved a girl.
Although this photo brought him a lot of glory and honor, he could not avoid the heavy criticism, not helping a girl. This is a tragic story about young man who photographed for money led him into suicide because of a guilty conscience.

The Entrepreneurship Initiative
The first time when i got this question, i send plenty of time to think about what type of products in our normal life can be add to something that will make better. During the lecture, however, i saw the video, showing that the robot was automatically moved by the censor chip. I thought this idea can be put into our life that would make it better.
My idea is that the bed which can be moved by remote controller. This can be simple, but i think this might help in many publice places. Hospital, for instance, there are many patients living in the room and some of them are unable to move their bodies due to physical disablilties. It is very sorrowful that they have to see the view of the world through the window. Therefore this movable bed typically will help not only the people with physical disablities but also the people like us.
I feel wonder why the people who invented a wheelchair, did not innovate the moveable bed. Although many people would not use this product, this still needs to some people and make their lives much better. By taking this course, I believe that learning about IST will help me to make this kind of products and help many people with disabilitis.

When i start to use blog it was very confuseing. It was confuseing because, I was little lost when i join the website, didn't know what to do, and it was totally new experience. I never use anything like this before or i never heard of it before.
However, when i start to get to know how the system was working i start to enjoy the website. I thought this was going to be very fun to write every one week. For example, before i start to write my first experience about the blog, my friends and i was talking about eventing items and others because that what i will do in the future.
I can not wait until i start to post up my ideas that i share with my friends and will be sharing with my classmates. This was really enjoyable experience that the blogging made me to think widely and to share thoughts and ideas with other people.
